Has anyone recently rented from Autovermietung Krämer in Trier, particularly the Porta Nigra location? They seem to have the best reviews of the 3 top care rental places.
I'm considering a three-day rental would appreciate firsthand experiences with two specific things that I have seen reviews complaining about:
1. Is the Porta Nigra location actually staffed for vehicle pickup and return, or are customers directed to Trier Hafen? Reviews online and when I contacted them directly to rent from Porta Nigra (their website has a bit of a glitch with dates), they told me to book for Trier Hafen.
2. Were employees able to explain the rental agreement, insurance, and vehicle inspection in English? Reviews online state no English speaking employees so my German isn't good enough for me to be confident renting a car from them. The insurance selection that they offer online is a bit confusing when translated to English by the browser so I am a bit nervous about the rental.
My concern is mainly understanding the rental agreement and any documentation at pickup or return.
