We are going to trek for 5-7 days, area to be determined. Does anyone have recommendations as there are so many choices. Also looking for recommendations for hiking companies you have used?

Okay, take this with a grain of salt because I have not been there but there have been a number of people here who have raved about the Harz Mountains area for hiking. I'm sure others will chime in but I can tell you that the area lies in northern Germany and has a lot of hiking possibilities. Some of the towns in the region are Quedlinburg, Goslar and Thale - all charming and with many half-timbered houses.

We hiked for a few days based out of Garmisch and had a great time. Not point to point though.
