Travelling from Frankfurt/Main to Weilersbach Fri Aug 5

Hello

It's my first time to Germany and I need to get from Frankfurt Airport to a small place called Weilersbach. I was told it's best to get a bus to Kaiserslautern then a taxi to Weilersbach. This doesn't seem correct when I look at a map. Can anyone help me please? What is the best way to make this trip by bus? I was direct to Bla Bla Car from here https://www.busradar.com

Many thanks SJ

There are several Weilersbach's in Germany. Where is it near?

You have spelled it both Weilersbach and Weilerbach. If it is Weilerbach, there is one near Kaiserlautern. It is about a 30 minute bus ride from Kaiserslautern.

Lookup the whole route on

http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en

From: Frankfurt(Main)Flugh

To: Abzw. Bahnhof, Weilerbach

I might be losing my mind. I thought you spelled it 2 different ways?

There are not many busses from FRA Airport to Kaiserslautern (check it out at www.fliexbus.de). It's easier and faster to take the train, even if there is one transfer at Mannheim. There are local busses from Kaiserslautern to Weilerbach: www.bahn.com

Thanks for all the info!

It's weilerbach I'm going, not such how I got to put two different spellings LOL

It's a real new adventure for me going to Germany not knowing the language at all!! Speaking Spanish and some Greek, I can usually understand and have a good at communicating in southern European, South and Central countries.

Don't worry, especially in Kaiserslautern area (American air base nearby), most people under 40 will probably speak pretty good English. Just start with "Sprechen Sie English?" and it should not be a problem.

As you might have gathered, Germany has an excellent train system, with buses, often coordinated with the trains, providing "last mile" service. So if you used the link Gary Mc provided, you'll see there is a train once per hour that will connect you to Kaiserslautern via Mannheim and 7 minutes later there will be a bus No 140 to take you to Weilerbach. Every bus I've been on in Germany, the driver takes cash, unless you try to use a 50 EUR note for a 2 EUR fare.

Oh and the start station at the airport will be Frankfurt(Main) Flugh. The website is very good at suggesting possible stations you are looking for, but since there are towns named Weilerbach and Weilersbach, it will not know which one you want.

Click on the details to see each connecting point and a box below "station information" will give you all the hours and services at the station, local street map, and for larger stations, a station map. And the "map" link next to it will show the route in a map of Germany.

OMG, we are heading there too, but with a rented car in September. I used to live there as a young child and would like to walk the streets again, and see the school, and also find the house that was our home at that time. Small world to chat with someone interested in going to that village too. - May I ask why you are interested in going there?
