I am planning a trip to Switzerland and at the end of that trip want to go via train from Zurich to Cologne with a change in Basel. Reason: a visit to see my 88 year old mother whom I have not seen in 3.5 years. According to the latest entry regulations, people entering Germany by train must show proof of vaccination. Of course I have the CDC Pfizer vaccination card. Who will check that: the conductor or some place at the train station in Zurich or Basel before i board? Switzerland is not considered a high risk area nor is the US (I travel with a US passport). This may change due to the surge in the Delta variant. Shall I do a PCR or antigen test in Zurich just to be sure? If anyone has entered Germany by train after August 1st I'd appreciate the feedback. Thank you in advance.
