My 18 year old son will be traveling out of the country by himself for the first time. We live in Connecticut. He will stay with a friend who lives in Bavaria for 2 weeks. He will fly nonstop from Newark International airport nonstop to Munich International Airport. I will need to purchase Medical insurance for his trip. Can someone please help direct me to the proper resources and give me any tips that might be helpful?

We've ended up with Allianz every time we've traveled. Google has been our primary resource.

I use ERGO for travel and additional medical insurance here. I pay a yearly fee, but they have shorter periods. Not sure how it works from the USA. Mine has gotten more expensive with age.
