I'm planning a trip to Berlin, Prague, Munich and Bavaria in March. I'm wondering what the weather will be like, especially in Bavaria. What is it like to spend time in Mittenwald and Garmisch-Partenkirchen during the very end of March? Would you recommend going there then? Would you recommend going to these towns or elsewhere in Bavaria?
The mountains are of course cold and damp.
Your chances are better in northern Bavaria in the region of Franconia (not that you can work on your tan there,) a place you can arrange to visit between Prague and Munich very easily. Bamberg, Nuremberg, and Würzburg are all very good options.
There are some fine little places too, like Iphofen:

March is usually towards the end of the ski season in the Alps. Usually above freezing, but not warm.
The rest of the country varies greatly by region and year. It could be sunny and dry one year, almost T shirt weather, or cold and wet the next.
