We are planing to travel from Munich to dubrivnic, Croatia by car. If anyone has any recommendations, (places to stop, stay, visit), please advise.

We stopped at the Plitvice Lakes in Croatia for two overnights and spent a day there in the Park, before traveling further south. Depending on your route you can pass by Lake Bled in Slovenia too. I managed to get a speeding ticket in a radar trap along the coast road not to far from Dubrovnik too.

How about Salzburg?
Consider taking the route along the Makarska Riviera just before arriving in Dubrovnik, the view is totally worth it!! Mt. Srđ will give you an awesome overview of the city too :)
