Hi! First time posting here, I will be traveling to Germany with a friend in September and would like to know how to purchase a ticket from Munich to Berlin Alexanderplatz. We’ll be staying for 3 days and go back to Munich for Oktoberfest. The early morning would be best to try to enjoy the day.
I appreciate all the advice and input thank you for helping!
Go to www.bahn.com
Look up the train you want, and buy a ticket. Easy. Peasy...
Check accomodation options in Berlin before booking train tickets because highest prices in September due to IFA fair and Berlin Marathon. Around these days the trains can be well filled up.
Hint, if you make the ticket search to and from "Berlin Alexanderplatz", the transfer ticket from Berlin Hbf will be included with the ticket at no charge.
Too funny. I was there (Alexanderplatz) yesterday. Hopefully they will finally have the tree that was on the rails all of yesterday sorted soon. Getting around here was a bit of a challenge finding alternative routes. Day after tomorrow I will travel from Ost Bahnhof to Munich. As was posted, buying tickets is very easy. You may either use the DB app, or, go to the train station and go to the ticket desk. You will not have any trouble.
So, a brief update about the trip from Berlin to Munich.
I had pre-booked reserved seats for our Berlin/Munich leg of our trip. When we arrived at the Ost Bahnhof, we were informed that our train had been cancelled. Luckily, I had a reservation. We received comparable seats on a later train.
We arrived in Munich several hours late and arrived at our destination in Feld Kirchen even later. Our bus was on his last run of the day, and left us off nowhere near our hotel. It was a very long day.
Lucky for us, we are staying in a place with good food and great beer. We got over it. Tomorrow we will try our luck with the trains once more. It will be the last train travel before we rent a car......
