Traveling from Frankfurt main station Hauptbahnhof to Rhineland area

Hi, need some help figuring out how and which train we take from the main train station in Frankfurt (in town) to Bacharach and then on to Cologne through Koblenz.

Did you look at www.debahn travel site yet? You enter your information and your choices
are shown. You can scroll the times given for later or earlier trains.

2nd Cl is adequate for this travel.
You can purchase your tickets at the Frankfurt station the day of departure.

If you're unfamiliar with train stations in Europe, arrive earlier to get your tickets and observe
how things are done. Germany has exceeptional rail system and service.

When I was on the Rhine I also purchased tickets from the machine at St.Goar for Cologne and other day trips.

If you are more than six people you can receive the group rate.

You don't say if you're already in Frankfurt or arriving from someplace else.

On my travel I arrived early morning from BOS- FRA airport. I was on the train and at my hotel in St.Goar by 830am.
St. Goar is one stop past your destination of Bacharach. Hopefully this helps you with an idea of timing.

This is the schedule webpage for German Rail (DB Bahn). You will find that there are direct RE connections from Frankfurt Hbf to Bacharach every 2 hours (9:08, 11:08, etc) as well as other connections with a change in Mainz. German Rail does not sell the ticket online, but you can purchase your ticket from an RMV automat or ticket counter for 15,50 euro (per adult traveler).

There is no manned ticket counter in Bacharach; only an automat, or you can purchase your ticket to Köln online from the Bahn website. The best price will depend on the number of people in the party, when you purchase the ticket, and whether you can commit to a specific train from Koblenz to Köln).
