Transportation using Group Day tickets in Munich

My husband and I will be traveling together from Salzburg to Munich on Railjet. We will be in Munich for two days of sightseeing, then the third day, we need to take transportation to the airport. We arrive initially at Central station and need to get to Rosemheimer Station which is by our hotel. We will want to use the S or Ubahn the rest of that day and the next day for Inner City. So would we purchase a group day ticket when we arrive at Central station the first day and be good to go until the next morning? Then purchase a new group day ticket the next morning when we are leaving to do sightseeing? It looks like the ticket is valid until 6:00 a.m. the following morning no matter when you purchase the ticket but I may be wrong about that. Last question; do we need a group ticket for the "Entire Network" to go from Rosemheimer to the airport? Thank you.

I believe the Railjet stops at Ostbahnhof before it gets to Hauptbahnhof, so you could get off there and take the S-bahn to Rosenheimerplatz. A little quicker. You can get the day ticket at Ostbahnhof. You need an all zone ticket to get to the airport, but if that is all you are doing on that day, might be cheaper to just get 1-way ticket(s).

Edit- BTW IF you are coming from Salzburg, why don't you come on the Merdian regional train instead of the Railjet. It is almost as fast, and you can travel on a Bayern Ticket for 31 EUR total. The Bayern Ticket includes free use of the public transport in Munich for the rest of the day (6 am next morning).

If it is a week day, you have to travel after 9 am. Meridian trains go every hour (almost).
The ticket to the airport is 11.20 EUR per person, so it would be a tiny bit cheaper than the 23.90 EUR all-zone group day ticket, but not if you doing some other travel in the city that morning.
