We are taking Ricks 14 day tour ending in Vienna. We want to then visit the Hummel factory in Rodental ( near Coburg).
How is the best way to get there? After a two day visit to that area, we then need to get back to Frankfurt.

Take the direct intercity train from Vienna to Nürnberg, and from there you can catch a regional train to Rödental. The same regional train also stops at Coburg. Look at the Deutsche Bahn website for more information.
Don't skimp on Coburg either. It's well worth your time, particularly the huge Veste Coburg castle. In my opinion, this is one of the best castle experiences in Germany.

I haven't been to Rödental, but Coburg is a great place to spend the night, although I don't know any hotels in the area.
Train tickets are cheaper if you pre-buy them, but this locks you into riding a specific train from Vienna to Nürnberg. The second leg of the trip is on a regional train, and you can take any that same day.
