Can anyone advise me on the best options for transportation from Brandenburg Airport to our hotel in Berlin's city center?
Perhaps you have already tried this, but I find that the airport website often contains this type of information.
From BER Berlin Brandenburg Airport there is a direct train to Berlin Hbf (central station) taking 30m. Ask your hotelier what’s the best way to reach their hotel.
Thank you, I did contact the hotel about best options and waiting for their reply.
Hi, km, the airport express train, which is called FEX, runs several time is an hour between the airport and the central train station. It’s very quick and very convenient. And I highly recommend it. Which hotel are you staying at?
You can also try doing a request for directions on Google maps using the public transport option. That will usually give you a good idea of how to get there. Just put in the airport and your hotel as destinations and it will tell you the quickest and easiest way. But usually the FEX will be the best solution.
Depending on where your hotel is you can also take the S-Bahn as well. Takes longer then the train but you may not have transfer.
The S-Bahn train S9 serves BER, takes about 45 minutes to reach the Hauptbahnhof, with numerous stops before and beyond that. It worked for me with a hotel near Hackescher Markt, east of Hauptbahnhof. Not knowing where your hotel is, no one can give you really good advice. But the S9 connects with numerous other U-Bahn and S-Bahn lines on its route.
The express train may be your best bet, I didn't use it. There will also be taxis, considerably more expensive but door-to-door. You may want to spring for one of those if you've had an overnight flight, especially if you're with one or more other people.
The trip planner on www.bahn.de can do door-to-door planning. Just enter "BER" as origin, and the street address of your destination and you will see.
This should be useful, a route planner from the Berlin agency that manages local transport -
