Transportation between Berlin airport and hotel

What's the best way to get from the airport in Berlin to my hotel? Cab? Public transportation? Other?

What hotel? Normally, you can get pretty close on public transportation at a fraction of the cost of a taxi.

The Airport Express train (“FEX”) or the S-Bahn is usually the quickest and most economical way to get from Brandenburg Airport into central Berlin.

We're going to Hotel Pension Kastanienhof Kastanienallee 65 10119 Berlin. Thanks for the responses. I was just wondering how much less expensive it would be on public transportation. It looks like we can figure out how to get there.

It's very easy, take the S-Bahn (S9) to Hackescher Markt, change there to tram M1 and travel two stops to Zionskirchplatz. A single ticket is €4.40, but some kind of pass for your stay in Berlin is probably a good idea.

Hint: Using S9 is the slowest version from the airport into Eastern center.

For 2 people, public transportation is 4.40 EUR per person. A taxi will probably run about 60 EUR.

The M1 Tram stops in front of the hotel. The M1 runs between Friedrichstrasse train station and the Schoenhauser Allee train station.
The RE8 or RB 23 are direct trains from BER to Friedrichstrasse station every 30 minutes. At other times you have to make another connection to either Friedrichstrasse or Schoenhauser Allee.

We took an Uber from BER to Prenzlaur Berg around 16:00 and it took an hour. I'd go with the train.
