Any suggestions for transfer to hotel in Berlin? Taxi? Private car?

I myself would take public transportation. Use bahn.com or DB Navigator app or BVG app to find options. I use the BVG app to buy all my Berlin public transportation tickets. It does not accept US addresses for creating a profile (at least it hasn't for the last 6 years I have traveled to Berlin), so I just use the address of my hotel as my address.
If I'm new to a place and arriving after an overnight flight, I definitely am not above taking a taxi or using a private car service such as Blacklane. It's kind of nice to walk out of the baggage claim hall to find a guy holding an iPad with your name on it. Expensive! But nice.

I have not done exactly your arrival details...sort of. Basically I took public transport.
Instead, I landed at FRA non-stop from SFO ca. 10 AM or so, went Frankfurt Hbf., dilly-dallied at Frankfurt Hbf, ie, having a hot lunch, relaxing, people watching, etc,
By 13:30 or so took the ICE train, six hours, direct to Berlin Hbf. Then the S-Bahn to my station " Savignyplatz, " walked 7 mins to the Pension. Of course, I had called from FRA to let them know when I would be showing up.
