Train was late

Our train coming in to munchen-pasing will be late and we will miss our connecting train at 16:27. They say the next one we can take would be at 16:47. It doesn’t say on the app what platform. How can I tell ahead of time since we have just a few minutes to make the connection and I’m traveling with my elderly parents. I am nervous about the connection because although our train was late they gave us hardly any time to board and the door LITERALLY was closing on my father. I had to put my back into it to hold it open. So I want to be prepared this time.

Also, we won’t have reserved seats so can we get on anywhere??

www.bahn.com says track 4 for the 16:27 and track 3 for the 16:47.

Do you mean on the regional train from Pasing to Kaufering? Regional trains sit anywhere you can, no reserved seats.

Tracks 3 and 4 are opposite sides of the same platform.

DB current info also states you arrive at 16:32 on track 9, so you have 15 minutes to make the connection. Eternity. Assuming you are on ICE 517.

Yes. That’s what we are on. I am very grateful for the extra few minutes to make the connection. Especially since I understand that this station we have to take escalators up and down with 82 year olds and luggage to balance and I am uncoordinated.

I just came on, and you have already made (?) the connection, but for future reference, Pasing, like most major Bahn stations also has elevators (box with up and down arrows).

Also, ask the conductor for the track number for the connecting train. He has access to that information.
