Train Tickets in/around Dusseldorf, Dortmund etc.

Just wanted to check something with those of you who know a thing or two about 'VRR' tickets in Germany, before my trip to Dusseldorf later this year.

On one of the days, I would be taking a day trip out to Wuppertal to ride the Schwebebahn, then on to Dortmund in the same day, returning to Dusseldorf in the evening.

I would just like to know whether the VRR 24-StundenTicket covers me for these journeys (all on 1 day) please - if so, which Price Level/Zone should I purchase when I get to Dusseldorf? I am looking at their journey planner and it seems it may have to be the Price Level D, but just wanted to check whether that covers all my journeys please?

If this ticket doesn't cover these journeys, it would be great to know what would cover all of this!

Many thanks.

Please note that there are plans to stop the Schwebebahn service for major repairs starting from September for several months.

Oh dear, that's not too good to hear - thanks for letting me know.
I found this from the Schwebebahn website, saying that it would only run on weekends until Summer 2021:
https://www.wsw-online.de/wsw-mobil/mehr-service/schwebebahn-faehrt-nur-noch-am-wochenende/

Do you think that would be the case, whether it would be closed completely or only closed on weekends?
(Don't worry if its too soon to tell though!)

The operator (Stadtwerke Wuppertal) says on this website (in German) that only weekend operation will be possible until summer 2021. Technical background is problems with the new trains; unfortunately, the old reliable rolling stock (delivered by MAN in the late 70ies) was taken out of service too quickly.

Yes, that does appear to be the case - bit of a shame it will be closed during the weekday though.
May have to reschedule or go another time :-)

Thanks for the info.

But to your original question, the VRR journey planner shows it to be a Price Level D ticket. 30.40 EUR for a single person 24-hour ticket.

Thanks very much for your help with this, the Price Level D will be the one I buy on the day - good value as you can travel anywhere in the VRR zone then :-)
