We are thinking of a trip in April to Germany. How is train service affected on Easter Sunday? We would likely be traveling from Passau or Regensburg to Freising by regional trains. Thanks Gary
The timetable for next year is not published yet (and maybe it's not even ready yet). Trains run on public holidays too, but there may be fewer departures.
Check www.bahn.com in a month or two, and you should be able to find your connection.
On Public Holidays trains (and most other public transport) run to the same timetable as is used on Sundays.
Times for next year (after 9th December 2018) are not yet published, but apart from a few minor re-timings are likely to be 90-95% the same as this year.
If you want an idea of what the service is, look on the DB website ( https://www.bahn.com/en/view/index.shtml ) for the coming Sunday.
Time tables for 2019 will be published on oct 16. Bookings will open then too.
Thanks. You told me what I needed to know. There is not a major disruption of service over Easter. It is vacation and we can work with time adjustments. Thanks again. Gary
