Train Schedule Change from Warsaw to Berlin - Checking Validity of Ticket for Alternative Route

I purchased 2 train tickets on DB for a trip from Warsaw to Berlin in a couple of weeks. I just received an email from DB saying the trip is no longer possible and then offering a link to alternative schedules. Basically we'll take the original train from Warsaw to Frankfurt and change trains their to the next originally schedulted train. However, instead of going all the way to Berlin Hbf as originally ticketed, we will need to get off the train in Erkner and then take the S-3 line to Hbf. When I printed out the alternative itinerary on the DB website, it states the following in red font: "Please check whether your ticket is valid for the alternative you selected." I cannot find any instructions on how to do that. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!

I would not worry about it, as it smells of standard CYA DB language. Your ticket is good for a route, as Wengen K is fond of saying. Once DB altered your original routing, you are free to take any connection to your destination using your original ticket.

PS. Note that the S-Bahn station at Erkner is separated from the DB station by a 70 m walkway. The S-Bahn tracks are parallel but separate from the DB tracks into Berlin, and it appears like they are doing a repair project on the DB tracks, thus the diversion to the S-Bahn into Berlin.
