Train Route-Munich-Innsbruck-Salzburg-Munich or reverse?

I have been looking over various train schedules and options for our Easter week trip to Munich and would love some input regarding the order of our train travel. We are starting and ending the week (Sunday-Sunday) in Munich. There are 3 of us.

Tuesday: day trip to Hohenschwangau/Neuschwanstein, looks like we could use a Bayern ticket?

Wednesday - Friday Option A:
Early morning train to Salzburg arriving around 9 am--store luggage at train station luggage lockers, do SOM bike tour, lunch, late afternoon train Salzburg to Innsbruck where we have 2 nights booked. Morning (TBD time) train return to Munich.
Wednesday Option B:
Morning (TBD time) to Innsbruck, sightsee, check into hotel for 2 nights.
Thursday: early morning train to Salzburg to make 9:30 SOM bike tour, lunch, sightsee, return train to Innsbruck late afternoon/early evening.
Friday morning return train to Munich.

We did not want to change hotels another time mid-week and group preferred to stay in Innsbruck vs Salzburg for a home base. While the Wednesday Option A seems more logical route vs out and back to Salzburg, I am concerned about the hassle of storing luggage as one person in our group will be in Germany for a month for work and therefore will have either a larger suitcase or 2 carry on size bags.

I would greatly appreciate any thoughts on both the route as well as train ticket options we should consider. I am not sure if we can purchase a complete round trip option Munich-Salzburg-Innsbruck-Munich or Munich-Innsbruck with on/off in Salzburg or if we need to divide these up into a few one way tickets. Once we decide route details, is there any reason I should wait to purchase tickets or just move forward with tickets and seat reservations given the holiday week?

Frankly, I think the group that wants to sleep twice in Innsbruck should change their minds. Spend the 2 nights in Salzburg - then the one with heavy baggage leaves it at the Salzburg hotel. Do a day trip to Innsbruck from Salzburg.

More frankly yet, I question the idea of going to Innsbruck altogether. Maybe a single day is all you need in Salzburg. But there's a lot to see just outside Salzburg to justify another day in the area.

Thank you @Russ for sharing your thoughts on staying in Innsbruck or possibly just visiting. We may need to revisit this a bit.

Consider buying Deutschland Ticket (58euro each) for one month which allows unlimited travel within Germany. It will cover your round-trip Munich to Neu castle, and r/t Munich to Salzburg. Only apply to local transport like brb meaning no fast train like rj. And it's a monthly subscription so you need to buy for the month of April and cancel the subscription by April 10 to avoid the charge for May. Check official DB and MVV web. It won't cover Innsbruck but check the closest German train station enroute and buy the portion from there to Innsbruck. We will travel from Bressonne to Munich in June. I bought the RJ88 train from B to Kufstein (Germany), and use the D tix for BRB train from K to M. It involves a change but the D ticket covers all other day trips from M. For luggage check Nanny Bag, those are some local businesses which would hold your bags. Hope it helps.

Thank you Gtoknow for the train info, we will look into that. I thought I heard you may need to register a German address for that, but could use your hotel???

Buy it via MVV app, it allows US address, DB somehow doesn't show US on the pull down menu. However MVV only show purchase for current month so I have to wait till May to buy it for June.
