Train lines along Rhine Valley

Hello community,
I am visiting the Rhine Valley in late August and looking for accommodations along the Rhine River, ideally near Bacharach, St. Goar or Oberwesel. It's difficult to determine in the information I have, and maps, if the rail lines run on both sides of the river. I look forward to your feedback.

I'd recommend Boppard. It's a small charming river town, with a nice buzz (many lodging and eating options.) You can eat outdoors along the Rhine and marvel at how busy a working river actually is. You also have many transit connections.
And- there's the chairlift for a great view of the bend in the Rhine.
Bacharach is too tiny for me- it has about a half day of exploring.
When is this trip?
Do a Search here- there's extended discussions with helpful info.
Have a great trip.

Boppard is a solid base town with lots of hotel and dining choices and with direct trains to St Goar, Bacharach and Oberwesel. Train rides from Boppard within the VRM zone are completely free of charge, thanks to the VRM Guest Ticket, which every guest in Boppard receives upon check-in:

St Goar works well too - the ferry crossing there puts you very close to the St Goarshausen station on the opposite riverbank. Boppard also has a ferry crossing, though the walk to Filsen station on the opposite riverbank is a bit longer.

Both St Goar and Boppard have riverfront hotel options.

Is it just you ? I always stay in Bacharach at Irmgard Orth’s small b&b. Great value, wonderful hostess. No website but the tripadvisor review ( Orth Zimmer ) has some photos. Email [email protected]. My review from 2013 has the most information about it. It all still applies.

Plenty of places to,eat in town. Cafe Bistro Noy is excellent as is the puzza/Doner pla ce across the street

I would recommend Boppard as well, also because it's more convenient if you decide to explore the Mosel and/or Braubach and Koblenz.

I stayed in Rudesheim but visited both Bacharach and Oberwesel on the same day via train. I enjoyed both, but looking back, I would've cut Oberwesel to spend a bit more time in Bacharach.
