Train from Munich to Salzburg to Innsbruck

Hello!
We are flying into Munich in April and plan to take the train to the city center as we stay there over night before heading to Salzburg. We will be staying in Salzburg for two nights before heading to Innsbruck. Wondering what is the best way to do this by train and which tickets. I read a lot about the Bayern ticket but not sure how we do that since traveling is on multiple days. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Kari

Salzburg - Innsbruck is an inner-Austrian train service, even if it runs through the Bavarian corridor. The Bayerticket is not available on this line. Buy the ticket from ÖBB, either in Salzburg at the station or on the ÖBB website (www.oebb.at/en/). Alternatively, there are 5 Westbahn trains per day, which are sometimes a little cheaper and a little more comfortable in 2nd class (www.westbahn.at)

In contrast, you can use the Bayerticket for the trip from Munich to Salzburg, because Salzburg is technically both an ÖBB and a DB station (btw, the Bayern ticket is a day ticket and valid on regional trains, here BRB trains, only).
