It looks like all the trains are not running due to track issues on Oct. 19 with the exception of two on the schedule. The 7:13 and the 8:13 look open and was wondering if anyone had any idea if these two trains are really running or is it a schedule error. It looks like they may take a bit of a different journey, but could be wrong. Seems odd only two trains would run and all the rest would not. We are trying to get from Munich to Garmisch - 4 people- that day.
There are buses, have you considered taking the bus instead?
Have you checked the train planner of the Bahn? There are indeed track works. There will be a bus replacement between Murnau and Ohlstadt. Just take the train from Munich and, having arrived at Murnau, follow your fellow passengers.
Yes we looked at the DB bahn site which is where we got the info from

At the DB site, click on that little red triangle next to the departure time. You will find a note that there is a replacement bus between Murnau and Ohlstadt. There is one for every train. Your trip will take a few minutes longer but there is no suspension of connections.
Look up the map of the Murnau station and locate the hexagonal "SEV" sign to the left of the station building. That's the the departure point of the substitute bus (SEV = Schienenersatzverkehr).
Got it - thanks!
Here in Garmisch now, and a heads up for those heading to Garmisch from Munich. The train work is indeed going on, but connections are not so great. Even the ticket agent at train station in Munich said Garmisch was difficult at this time and that the buses that were to cover the part of the trip between the track work were running late, and people very upset. Know why - there is also major road work going on before Garmisch. It was suggested to us to take the bus instead of the train and took the agents advice. We booked a Flix Bus for noon the following day. That was a nightmare in itself. It was a sold out bus and when the bus pulled up to the station it was like a mass exodus of people scrambling to get on the sold out bus. Zero organization. Everywhere we sat someone said it was their reserved seat. 4 of us ending up spread out in different seats over two levels. Because of the roadwork, the less than 2 hr drive took over 4. We literally sat on the autobahn for 2 hrs inching our way to Garmisch. Roadwork blocked traffic in both directions. It is on going. Our suggestion is find a train that will get you to Munich in a round about way. It was no easy task.

At Murnau you can change to a train to Oberammergau. From Oberammergau there is a bus to Garmisch. The bus still takes the Autobahn from Oberau to Gamisch.
An alternate, which would be much less desirable would be a train to Füssen, a bus to Reutte or Pfronten, and a train of the Ausserfernbahn through the Tirol to Garmisch.
