Train connection in FRA

We’re flying in to FRA from JFK in late Aug. Will take a train immediately to Paris l’Est.

Question is (assuming flights are on time), will almost 3 hours be enough to clear immigration and get to the train station? We’re scheduled to arrive at 10:00 on SQ and the preferred train is 12:51. There is another an hour later, but prefer the earlier arrival time in Paris. Pretty sure the station is a different terminal than arrival.

We will be doing carry-on only.

Yes.

Should be totally fine, you’ll likely have some time to spare for a bite of lunch.

Even when FRA passport control felt really, really slow for me (arriving behind passengers from several international flights) it was still under 45 minutes to clear. Sounds like you’re arriving in Terminal 2 which will take a bit longer but still nothing to worry about with an on time or even slightly late arrival.

I don't think that in my past arrivals at FRA, it has taken much more that an hour to get from the plane to the Fernbahnhof, from which the long distance trains leave. However, on several occasions, my plane has been an hour late arriving in Germany, so that would mean I would have arrived at the Fernbahnhof two hours after landing, still enough time.

If you purchase a full fare ticket, it is valid on any train that day, so arriving late is no risk, it just means you would arrive in Paris and hour or so later than hoped for.

If instead, you are using a discounted ticket, a late arrival could cost you the price of the train-specific, non-refundable ticket.
