Bought tickets on line in advance for a trip from Rothenburg to Erfurt. They changed the regional trains that go from rothenburg to Ansbach but the times are exactly the same. When I check the Bahn web site for my trips they do not include the change but since it is a regional train and seats are first come first serve am I to assume we just get on the train going to our destination at the designated time and there will not be any problems?

There are no seat reservations on regional trains, if there are no seats available, you stand. I seriously doubt the regional train from Rothenburg to Steinach will be that crowded.
When is this trip going to be?

If you are going through Ansbach, then you will take either another regional train to Nuremberg or an IC train, then an ICE train to Erfurt. Unless you purchased seat reservations for the IC or ICE trains, the same applies. If no seats available, you stand until a seat becomes available. You can check the projected train loading at DB to see if you want to buy seat reservations (4.50 EUR) as you get closer to your travel date. The Nuremberg-Erfurt trains all run from Munich to Berlin and most on to Hamburg. Depending on the day and time, they could get busy.
