Hey - German travel experts.. We are landing at Munich airport at 7am and then on to Kitzbuhel Austria. Since it is only a 2 hour train ride, I thought we might stop somewhere along the way for a few hours. Suggestions on places to stop and walk around for a few hours (we will have luggage)? Also, advice on options for trans from Munich airport to main station, and then on to Kitzbuhel. Can / should I buy one ticket all the way from airport to Kitzbuhel and then get off somewhere along the way and get back on? Or maybe a bus from airport is better, then train? Or 2 separate train tickets? Thanks in advance for your help!

The fastest way is a 2 hour and 20 minute train ride from Munich airport, taking the S-8 to Munich Ost station connecting to the EC train to Woergl, connecting to a train to Kitzbuehel. the EC train goes every 2 hours. You would need to buy a full fare ticket to hop on or off.
Woergl station does have luggage lockers according to the OEBB website. That could be worth a stopover.
