Touring the Reichstag in Berlin?

What is the best way to book a tour of the Reichstag in Berlin?
Online I see all sorts of prices, but where do we book a legitimate tour and what cost can we expect?

Sam has provided the official website which is the one to use. Apply well in advance for the tour, especially since security screening is required ahead of time. Also show up early for your tour as there can be line-ups. It is impressive how modern designs have enhanced what was left of the old building. Even the glass dome, not particularly lovely from the outside, provides stunning views across the city skyline. One note of warning: I read somewhere that the dome will be closed soon (or maybe now) for a period of maintenance.

There are a limited number of tours in English, so book well in advance. I booked yesterday for a visit at the end of November and have had the visit confirmed. A friend was visiting the summer and left it too late to book. The tours are free.

Sam has posted the correct link. This is the only way you get to go inside the Reichstag to see more than just the glass dome. The tours are conducted for free and last about 90 minutes - the best 90 minutes of my stay in Berlin! Afterwards, you can still go up to the dome where they offer a free audio guide.

Be aware that these tours can only take place on days the parliament is not in session. Therefore, you better make reservations well in advance.

If you go, be sure to stop in the rooftop cafe.

Unfortunately, we have waited too late. The mid-November dates when we will be in Berlin have no availabilities for the tours conducted by the Reichstag personnel. Does anyone have any information about paid tours through local services?

Don't think that helps, as only official representatives of the German Bundestag can give guided tours. You may be able to get tickets to get into the dome.

What Sam has said. The Reichstag guided tours are only done by the Ministry department. Go early and try to get a ticket which will get you into the dome only. Good luck.
