Torch Walks to Christmas Markets

I have done this torch walk to the Ravenna Gorge market two times.
If you buy your ticket now, you insure you get entry to the market, which is rather small and restrictive. Plus you get a cool torch and a shuttle bus ride back to Hinterzarten. Pick the later time as it is fully dark. Walking with a flaming torch is a unique experience and this market is unique too. Plenty of cosy places to stay overnight in Hinterzarten too.

Those who don't want a torch walk, the sale of the tickets to this market go on sale in Oct. and sell out in a day. If this is something you want to do, check dates for sale now.

Then, while updating my Christmas market list for 2025, I came across this torch walk, up on the Mosel right after it merges with the Rhein. The town looks amazing! I am going to go to this one in Nov. Looks pretty close to Koblenz, like a 5-10 min. train ride.

Winningen is all about wine - and lovely, at least in the warm months. Nice spots in town like this one and the absence of foreign tourists make it one of the Mosel's best little "hidden gems." I would expect it to look a little bleak in the off season, however. Hope you'll provide a report after your visit.

Winningen will be having a light display that looks amazing, so that plus the torch walk makes for a unique evening. Will post a trip report. I have had a blast on the other 2 torch walks I did for the Ravenna Gorge market, so this one should be fun too.
