Titus boat tour & walking around Lake Titisee in Germany

I'm curious to learn about people's experience with taking the guided tour of Lake Titisee through https://boote-titisee.de/? We are choosing between renting an electric boat ourselves to drive around the lake but are wondering if the information the guide provides on the Titus would more interesting.

I'm also curious to hear opinions from those who what walked around the part of the lake where the trail gives a view of the lake.

I understand from many, and this forum, that Titisee is very crowded and a tourist trap so we won't be spending a lot of time there. We're considering adding some time to explore the lake since it's not far from the clock museum that my son wants to visit.

AFAIR, it was a rather small and tame-looking lake. I focused on forest walking. It actually was so crowded in Titisee that I gave up on having a bite to eat. There was a line for the boat. Non-European tourists (I mean, with language issues, as far as I could see) clogged up the line for the TI, so I couldn't get a trail map. But there were plenty of signs on the roads, and I figured out how to walk back to my hotel in Hinterzarten.

The view in the above link is available from the Hochfirst, a peak just outside Titisee. A few years ago I took the train to Neustadt, hiked from the station there up to the Hochfirst, then downhill into Titisee. It was a lovely hike.

There's a tower and an inn that serves food at the top.

You will find several trail descriptions which include Titisee at the page below.

Many, many years ago I went to Titisee in the springtime and stayed in the Veltishof youth hostel there, a handsome old building at the opposite end of the lake from the town itself and a healthy walk from the station... beautiful and peaceful there for sure:
