Time in Museums

Sadly, we have a brief 2+ days in Berlin and naturally I am trying to use my time wisely. We intended to do the RS walking tour but the starting point is some distance from our hotel and time is of the essence. I am hoping to visit
Berlin Wall Memorial
German History - the road not taken
DDR
Maybe Topography of Terror
I know this is a rather comprehensive question but might someone suggest apprx. time needed for each location. I would like to fit in a walking tour, RS or another. Many thanks

See if you can join one of the walking tours offered by Insider Tours, that will cover many of the sites you might want to see in Berlin. Plus, it will show you where those other sites that interest you are located. Best use of your time.

When I was up in Berlin last month I only went down by the Museum Island one day. And I started early, early enough the vendors were just setting up for the street art market. It was great to be able to see the architecture without all the people. I did the same thing on Sunday hitting Brandenburg Tor and the Tierpark starting at 0800. I have a shot of the Gate with only 3 people in it, compared to 1400 in the afternoon when there were maybe 2000 people in the same place.

I really liked the Altes Museum, and the Bode was good also. The Altes has an excellent exhibition of sculpture from Rodin's disciples, and the Bode has another excellent exhibit on counterfeiting coinage going back to Roman times.

The art market is on the street that parallels the island, and also has some crafts, old books, and antiques. I picked up an fantastic old pocket knife that's just over 90 years old and looks new, and a couple of excellent out of print books.

If you plan to see the Reichstag make sure you already have tickets.
