Looking for public transport friendly things to see as I make my way from Munich to Frankfurt. I'm a huge WWII buff, so anything historical would be a plus, but my wife and I also like photography, small scenic towns and of course great food! We've already seen Nuremberg, Wurzburg, Regensburg and Rothenburg. What else are we missing?

Depending on the routing, Nuremberg, Augsburg and Heidelberg are a few possibilities.
