We will be in Frankfurt for 2 days prior to a Christmas Market River Cruise. (Dec. 2-8)
We are open to suggestions for a day trip for one of the days.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
We are 2 older, but healthy women, and want to take advantage of our time in Frankfurt.

My suggestion is taking the Frankfurt on Foot walking tour. It's excellent.
The Frankfurt Christmas Markets will be in full swin on those dates and the tour takes you through a few of the markets.

You might find there’s plenty to fill two days in Frankfurt without a day trip. The museum district, the Museumsufer (translated “museum embankment”), has 39 museums and exhibition venues lining both banks of the Main River. If you enjoy a broad collection of fine art, I can recommend the Städel Museum. It’s on the south side of town across the river from the main train station and old town. The Städel faces a riverside promenade with nice views of the city.

I agree with Frank II on the 'Frankfurt on Foot' walking tour. Also, the guide should be able to help you identify attractions that most interest you.

I definitely agree to do the Frankfurt on Foot tour. We did it on arrival and it was fantastic!! The Christmas markets in Frankfurt are also very fun, so don't miss out on them.
