Therme Erding & hotel Apfelbaum before flight home...anyone familiar with either?

Hi,
When looking for Munich airport hotel stumbled upon Therme Erding. Sounds like a great way to wind down on Last night after a day trip to Salzburg. Then started looking for nearby hotel with airport connections. Hoping to find someone familiar with this area. Is it easy to walk from Altenerding station to hotel, looks to be apx 1/2 mile away. If not what are the chances of finding taxi at station, do they frequent or would I need to call & wait? Looks like I can walk from hotel to the spa & easily get bus or taxi for early flight out on Wednesday morning. Could anyone confirm the above or make alternate suggestion?
Thanks,
Carrie

Some other regulars have posted about Erding. From what I can see, the Best Western, about a block away from the Apfelbaum, has hourly shuttles to the airport for a fee (don't know how much). There are some buses from Altenerding station to a stop nearby, but they are not very frequent, like once an hour. The Munich Journey Planner indicates it is a 13 minute walk, or 8 minute bus ride. There appears to be what looks like a bike path/walkway along the highway from the station to the hotel area, which appears to be in an industrial park.

I've stayed at the Best Western across the street. Yes, you are within walking distance of the Alterding stop, but you're unlikely to see a taxi there. More likely from the main Sbahn station further along the line. Even there, though, I don't recall seeing many taxis.

That area of Erding isn't the most attractive, but it is within an easy walk to the Therme (although for the quickest walking route, you have to go through a pasture). The above poster is sort of correct to describe it as an "industrial area". I would call it more of a "mixed use" neighborhood, with some residenences, a few cafes, offices and a handful of light manufacturing facilities. Downtown Erding is definately more scenic, but not as close to the Therme.

Have you considered staying in the attached Hotel Victory? It wasn't yet completed the last time I visited, so I can't comment, but it looks very nice and definately the most convenient option for visiting the Therme.

What fool would pass up Europe's best thermal resort, where you can drink Erdinger at a swim-up bar (bathing suit or nude options) and instead choose a brewery tour?

Thank you very much, everyone!
And, yes, I'm among the 2% of people visiting Germany that doesn't like beer so although the brewery tour sounds cool, I'll be sticking with the spas:)
