Thanksgiving in Germany?

We are headed to Munich for Thanksgiving as that's when our kids have the same break in college. Will there be Christmas Markets in Munich and Nuremberg by the last week of November? Any other ideas for early winter activities?

Nuremberg's Christmas market opens Nov 29. Nuremberg's market is crazy packed on weekend nights... like miserably, "I can't move" packed. It's not so bad during the day.

The Marienplatz Christmas market in Munich opens Nov 27. Munich has other markets, too. I haven't been in Munich for Christmas markets, so I can't tell you what they are like. Most city markets, though, are pretty packed on their first weekend.

Thanks so much? We would also love to catch a Bundesliga game. Any ideas on getting tickets?

Game list for next Bundesliga season will be available begin of August but only addressing weekends, not special date and time for the date of your travel. But in August you can start asking clubs for tickets.

While Thanksgiving is not celebrated in Italy, we saw many “Black Friday” sale signs in store windows, for the Friday after Thanksgiving. And the Tempory Ice skating rink opened, yes, you guessed it, the Friday after thanksgiving. The Christmas celebration in Italy goes until January 6.
