We're traveling to Germany this summer will be arriving in Berlin a day ahead before leaving on a Viking Adventure. My family originates Templin. We plan on visiting templin a day before. Are there any suggestions from traveling from Berlin to Templin and then the activities within Templin.

There isn't much you can do there. Templin is rather unremarkable, apart from the preserved towns walls.... which are not that impressive. In two hours you have seen the place. Nearby however are some interesting sites:
Boitzenburg castle - impressive building with a nice park
KZ Ravensbrück
Niederfinow Boat Lift

Wayne, we thought of visiting Templin this Fall as that is my maiden name, and I confess after looking into it further we decided we would rather have the day in Berlin. But during my research, it looked like the DBahn from Berlin to Templin took about 1.5 hours, and departed every hour.
