We are looking at going on a luge ride after visiting Neuschwanstein. It appears there are two fairly close by- Tegelberg luge and Obermmergau luge. Does anyone have suggestions on which one is better? (We will have a rental car so transportation is not a problem) Thank you!
Hi Meg,
Tegelberg is maybe a mile from the castle. Oberammergau is about an hour away. We've only ridden the Tegelberg luge (Sommerrodelbahn), a number of times. It's a lot of fun.

Tegelberg is right by the castle and super fun!! Also a nice little playground if you have kids with you. We did the mikes bikes bus Bavaria tour for all of this from Munich and I think it ranks my kids favorite day in Europe of all of our trips!
At Oberammergau you can in addition see nice https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/L%C3%BCftlmalerei on many houses and the place is known for traditional wood carving.
Hi Meg-
I did the Tegelberg luge Monday and was really disappointed. So maybe you want to try the one in Oberammergau...
Have a great trip!!!
