Four of us are arriving by bus on April 27th at Nuremberg central bus station (Willy-Brandt-Platz) to embark that afternoon on a Viking river cruise. We would prefer to take taxis to the river port, rather than a hired car, due to the expense of such a short journey. Will there be any taxis in the area around the bus station, or in one of the several hotels is the area? Thanks for any help anyone can provide.
If there aren't any waiting at the ZOB just walk over to the train station (200m), where there will be plenty of taxis.
As noted, the main train station and central bus station are right next to each other. If you follow the signs there are always taxis waiting.
If you have time, I'd recommend walking across the plaza and into the old town. The main street will take you to the main square by St Lorenz Church. It's a 10 minute easy walk.
gtl97,
As noted by others there will be plenty of taxis at the nearby train station. Additionally, to follow up on KCG's advice, there are lockers at the train station. Park that luggage for a bit and walk across the street, or through the tunnel, into the old town. The handwerkerhof is just inside the old walls across from the train station, with little trinket shops and nürnbergers (small bratwurst).
I hope you have a great trip!
Thanks so much to all of you for the help!
