How easy is it to get a taxi in Cochem? (local hotel in town to train station)
Also, do taxis queue at the Cochem train station or do you have to phone them?
Alternate plan... How frequent are buses along Moselpromenade from the train station?

We had no problem getting a taxi in the Zell, but a phone call is necessary. I don't recall a taxi queue at Cochem station. Tel # (0 26 71) 80 80

Where do you want to go. I found buses from the Cochem station to wherever I wanted to go. The local transit district VRM has schedules on their website (click on British flag for English).

Its not too far up hill, but I'd just grab a cab when you arrive at the station. Its about 3/4 of a mile from the station, and cab fare wouldn't break the bank. Once you're checked in with your bags, walking to/from the center of town should be a breeze, its less than a quarter mile from the markt.
