Because of my location, it is most convenient of me to take the S8 or S1 from Munich Ost station to Munich Airport
Does anyone know which platform I should use?

Here you can follow up the S-Bahn departures from München Ost. Look for plane symbol in the list.

Using the link from Markk, it appears to be either 2 or 5 depending upon which S-Bahn you are taking. Additionally, check the monitors as soon as you arrive. A platform can change unexpectedly due to a delay, repar work, a sports event or concert, etc.

I took the S8 from Munich Ost to the airport.
As other posters said, check monitors at the station as platforms can change.
