where is the best Sunset spot in Rothenburg ODT mid July? The Rathaus Tower is closed already at 6pm and with the 220 steps after a whole day in other places, it doesn't excite me :D So we plan to go to other tower that could offer another angle of best view during sunset at around 9pm in mid July.

I think the only accessible wall tower in Rothenburg is the Röderturm (on the wall above the front gate), but according to the Rothenburg website, it closes at 5 PM. I think the wall itself is always accessible. Not as high up a Röderturm, but maybe the highest accessible place.
Another possibility might be a church tower, but I don't know if any are accessible to the general public or open that late.
If you can't find any high vantage point, you could simply walk through some of the pasture land outside of the town. As I recall, the terrain is more open to the west and south. Most agricultural land in Germany has public access trails that running through them, so don't worry about illegal trespassing.

Thanks for the info guys. Yes I just read about the Rodertor closing time too and it's the only accessible tower other than the Rathaus one. The St Jakob's Church also close at 6pm which I don't think I could make it. I guess Tauber Valley could be a good option to enjoy the sunset, it's also pretty close to my Hotel.
