Suggestions Needed for October 27 to 31 Not more than 3-4 hours from Munich

Hello,
I could use some suggestions for a 4 night trip not too far ( 3-4 hrs max.) from Munich.
I end a 3 week trip on October 27th in Munich and must fly out of Munich on the 31st.
In the 3 weeks prior to the 27th I will have visited: Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Munich, Vienna, and the St Johan im Pongau areas extensively.
I am also wondering if October 27th onwards is too late to visit any sort of harvest festival.
I would appreciate any and all suggestions - most interested in slow and scenic travel experiences.
Thank you!

Salzburg is only a couple hours from Munich by train and the view is nice along the way. Nuremberg is likewise only in the opposite direction. Both are nice and you can see a good portion of the old town in a day.

October 23 is the anniversary of the '56 Hungarian Revolution. Great time to be in Budapest. 2 hours from Vienna. Yes, this requires inserting it in the middle of your schedule instead of at the end.

Augsburg is 50 wiles west of Munich and a quick train ride. It is a great day trip.

Nuernburg is another day trip that you can do by train.
Salzburg and Berchtesgaden, Germany another.
The Palace at Chemse is not far from Munich, as is Dachau Concentraton Camp.

As for a small festival, the Auer Dult is going on in Munich 20 October - 28 October 2018.

Definitely worth a visit before you leave Munich.

I suggest Bad Ischl, the summer residence of the Emperor Franz Joseph if you're interested in the history. The bus is direct to Bad Ischl From the train station is a ca. 30 minutes walk to the grounds to of the Habsburg summer residence
