Friday, next week, I was supposed to travel by train from Amsterdam Centraal to Cologne to meet a cousin and then we were going to drive about 40 minutes East to Hirschberg, (sometimes called and easier found when searched by Hirschberg, Warstein).
Four or five weeks ago my cousin was told that she would be having surgery on April 16th and would be out of the hospital, tomorrow (Friday). Originally told she would be fine and we could continue with our plans for Friday the 26th.
A few hours ago the doctor told her that she would be having another surgery and should get out of the hospital Friday the 26th which is the day we are supposed to meet.
We are now thinking that we might be able to meet in Hirschberg instead of Cologne since she is not sure how she will be feeling. If she cannot make it to Hirschberg, then we will hopefully be able to meet in Cologne Sunday evening, if she is feeling good enough to have a visitor.
I used rome2rio (been told not to trust it) to see if it is possible to go from Amsterdam Centraal to Hirschberg and then I double checked with Rail Planner.
It appears that I can go from Amsterdam Centraal to Meschede by train.
Rome2Rio says that I can catch a bus in Meschede and then take a 15 minute ride to Hirschberg, but I have not been able to verify this by any other way.
Can someone with better skills than I, verify that I can indeed make it from Amsterdam to Meschede by train and then Hirschberg by bus for the last leg of the trip?
Traveling by train and bus is a whole new experience for me, but by the end of May, I hope to be a pro.
Thank you for your help
