For finding food places at destinations some people use Tripadvisor. Others try Yelp. Veggies & Co. use HappyCow.

One of the best methods is still to ask locals at destination where do they go.

Simply use Google Maps, which has the biggest user base. And since Android/Google is popular everywhere, unlike Yelp for example (which is completely useless in my area), most reviews are by locals.

Hi Teo- If you want a GOOD Schnitzel I would recommend

Andy's Krablergarten

Thalkirchner Str. 2, 80337 München, Germany

It is about 1 block southeast of the Sendlinger Tor Platz

To be safe a reservation is recommended, but you will not be disappointed in the quality and quantity of the food for the inexpensive price. They also serve supper- I think they are closed Monday

Have a great trip!!!

Personally I definitely avoid Google Maps for restaurant search. In Berlin they simply do not know when locations are closed and / or (re-)opened at other locations.

In addition I would summarize from ratings versus my experience that my personal taste and food ambition level seems to be absolutely different from Google Maps users - only a handful matches. Even worst places that are closed by administration later receive ratings of 3 dot x minimum.

I always have in the back of my head that at the end Google wants to sell ad spaces to all listed places.

Some ideas:

(1) Sendlinger Strasse (from the Sendlinger Tor direction Marienplatz):
-- Hackerhaus (ca. 250m): traditional Bavarian, in my view much better
than the infamous Hofbräuhaus)
-- Ringlers (only a fews steps from Motel One) for a quick lunch

(2) Müllerstrasse (south):
-- Andy's Krablergarten (ca 200m south): beer garden and Bavarian restaurant
-- Palau (ca. 400m south) : Catalan

(3) Pettenkoferstrasse (west):
-- Café Mozart (traditional sixties style coffee house)

(4) Fraunhoferstrasse (south east):
-- Pesciera (expensive),
-- Fraunhofer (traditional, noisy on evenings),
--Bergwolf (nothing special but inexpensive)
