We are travelling from Berlin to Munich in September. We will be in Munich for only one night and we are staying in a hotel in the eastern part of the city. We will be arriving by train and we want to go to Oktoberfest. Rather than travelling all the way to our hotel and back again we were wondering if there are storage lockers or baggage rooms that we can use to store our luggage overnight. We will be leaving the next day by bus to Prague. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, there are lockers at Munich Hbf. There may also be some construction detours within the station.

I was unaware of any construction at the Munich Hbf and don't know if it affects where the lockers are now, but in the past, they have been in a room just off the end of track 26, the last track in the main shed of the Hbf. The room exits at the other end into a hallway, and the check room (Gepäckaufbewahrung) is across the hall from the locker room.

Not yet, but they are coming soon. Presently, only the station place (Bahnhofsplatz) is affected. But somewhere in the near future the station building will be demolished and at the same time the Bahnhofsplatz will be dug up for the construction of the new S-Bahn line. Then the station area will be a kind of a lunar landscape for the years to come. The project will run until 2029 (flyer in English here).
