Stopping in Freising on way to Munich

I will be using an eight-day Eurail Czech Republic-Germany Pass this coming August. On my trip by rail from Prague to Munich on August 23rd I am planning to stop in Regensburg for 2 hours and then stop in Freising for 2 hours to visit the Freuneskreis Weihenstephaner Garten. I understand that the bus routes in Freising are part of Greater Munich's MVV network. Is there a ticket I can buy in Freising that will allow me to take two bus rides in town and then use again when I board the train to ride from Freising to Munich? It looks to me like my train ride from Freising to Munich will be on an S-8 S-Bahn so I'm assuming that my Eurail pass will not cover this leg of my journey. What zone is Freising considered? Would a one-zone ticket apply to this travel?

I'm also wondering whether I will be able to store my luggage at both the Regensburg and Freising train stations while I explore these two cities.

Thanks.

According to the Eurail site, Eurail passes are valid on the S-Bahn in Germany, at least the S-Bahn operated by German Rail, which would include the ones in Munich. So Freising to downtown Munich would be included.

Freising is in the outer zone, so an all day ticket (Tageskarte) for unlimited rides in that zone would be 6,70€, but the single ride ticket for the bus from Freising Bahnhof to Weihenstephan is a Kurzstrecke (short ride ticket) for 1,50€, so, if that's all you want to do, you might not want the Tageskarte.

According to the station plan for Freising, there are no lockers at the station in Freising. There are at several locations in the station at Regensburg.

Regensburg is a wonderful town and Freising is our favorite stop for the last night in Germany.

We have visited the gardens at the Weihenstephan Brewery in Freising on foot and they are great, probably doable in 2 hours by foot from the Freising Bahnhof. I do not remember lockers at the train station.

Regensburg's city center is easily visited on foot from the train station but there is a lot to see. Two hours would be a stretch to take in the principal sights of the town.

I am not sure about the payback for 2 hours each in Regensburg and Freising. I might focus on one or the other.
