Stay in Reutte? Schwangau? Split with Hohenschwangau?

I know I have posted about this before, several times. But, I get so overwhelmed with the options!

We arrive in Munich on Sept 21 and stay there one night, visit Dachau the next morning (Thursday), then drive south to the Reutte/Fussen/Schwangau/Hohenschwangau area. We will cram most of the sights into Friday, spend Saturday (outdoors if possible), ending with Sunday/Mon nights in Oberammergau. The last 1 to 1 1/2 days will be in the G-P area (Monday/Tues AM) before we go to Salzburg.

I am stymied about where to stay Thurs/Fri/Sat! I originally thought that staying in Reutte would be kind of central to all the things we are doing. But, I see SO MANY people on this forum who don't think that Reutte is worth our time and I'm second guessing my plan.

Instead, I could rent an apartment in Schwangau for 3 nights. That would be close to many of the sites, just further from G-P. Or, I can get the first night in Hohenschwangau and the next two in Reutte or Schwangau. Currently, I'm not seeing to be any places in Fussen or G-P that are cheap enough for us.

We will have a car. What am I missing in my thinking?

Also, is it feasible to see Linderhof on our way to Oberammergau Passion Play? We would have a 9:05 tour but need to be in O'gau by 12-ish to park and get to the play 1 hour in advance. We also want to walk around/tour 0'gau. Maybe Monday or Tues AM would be better?

I’d skip staying in Reutte. If you can get a suitable apt. in Schwangau, go for it. We stayed twice in Fuessen at the Hotel zum Hechten. Reutte wouldn’t even be in my list of places to stay.

I like the town of Füssen and the surrounding villages.

I did have to stop at a supermarket in Reutte several years ago but I'm sorry that the town did absolutely nothing for me. Blah, commercial, busy and crowded. But others may see it differently.

Schwangau and Fussen are both good places to stay. A few years back we stopped off one morning in Bad Bayersoien for a coffee and a walk around the small lake, and had to cancel a two week stay in an apartment there in September of 2020. It's a bit more than a one pferd town, has a handful of eateries, a pretty setting by the lake, and is fairly central between Fussen and GP. Mittenwald is about an hour away, Dachau about 1.5, as is the airport.
