Take care of general regulation in Germany regarding children and alcohol:

• Children under the age of 14 are not allowed to drink alcohol in public nor it is allowed to hand out any alcoholic drinks to them.
• Beer and wine may only be consumed by young people between the ages of 14 and 15 and only when accompanied or supervised by persons with custody (parents).
• Young people aged 16 and over may drink beer, wine, cider or similar beverages.
• High-proof alcohol or beverages containing brandy, such as liqueur, vodka or rum, are only permitted from the age of 18.

I went there last year and had a great time. Didn't see any children as it really isn't place for them. There are other places I would bring children, the City Museum or any of the other museums would be a great way to spend time with them.
