Small town north of Munich airport

Hello fellow travelers, we have a lovely trip planned to include Oktoberfest, (haven’t been there in 28 years!) Salzburg, Prague, etc. We’ll be hiking in Bodenmais before heading to Munich airport that evening.
Does anyone know of a small, quiet little town to get some dinner about 30 minutes or an hour up A92 between Munich and Bodenmais?

Freising has a good selection of restaurants. Moosburg and Landau as well.

I agree Freising, Moosburg and Landshut all have a good selection of eateries. Landau has some but they are fairly spread out and take a bit of hunting out. Quite a few of them shut on Mondays and Tuesdays and from 2pm until 5.00-5.30pm. If you decide on Landau, head up the hill into the small old town centre You'll find 4 or 5 places to eat up there. https://www.zum-oberen-krieger.de/ opens all day from 9am till at least 10pm (closed Mondays). Another town with plenty of places to eat around the town centre is Deggendorf.
I note you plan to do a hike from Bodenmais. One of my favourites is from the Grosser Arbersee - (take the bus, free with your guestcard), http://www.rbo.de/ostbayernbus/view/mdb/kursbuch/mdb_271543_6198.pdf , from Bodenmais Rathaus to the Arbersee, you can't miss the lake it's right by the road). Take a stroll around the lake, then follow the fairly steep and at times rocky but well worn path to the top of the Arber. the views are stunning, then follow the signposted path across to the Kleiner Arber summit, before taking the path down to Bodenmais via the Rissloch falle (a series of small waterfalls/casades). There are cafes at the lake and near the top of both the mountain summits. Apart from the uphill from the lake, the rest is reasonably level or downhill. Allow 5-6 hours.
