We will be arriving at Frankfurt airport early on Sunday Oct. 1. I have iphone & want to get a Sim card for it when we arrive. Is there a place in the airport or in town? We are renting a car & headed to Bacharach for the first night. We do not have reservations after Bacharach & will be touring the Mosel Valley area first. Any sleeping suggestions? We are driving down to Switzerland (Gimmelwald 3 days) and over to Salzburg & back to Munich. We will end up in Berlin for 3 days. Plan to drop the car off as soon as we get to Berlin. Any suggestions of things to see or do that we shouldn't miss? Want to try the luge ride while in Salzburg & bike rentals.
Thanks
The airport web site has maps of all the shops. Google maps also has this info, "mobile phone shops near Frankfurt airport".
Regulations have changed and there are reports that it is difficult for visitors to get a local SIM card. As reported in this thread.

If you are visiting another country prior to Germany, you may want to pick up a plan and card there that offers roaming in Germany.
We bought a SIM on 8/15/17 without issue at the main train station. We did need to supply the address of our hotel.
+1 for Rocket's warning. I'm in Duesseldorf now, and I only got a vodaphone 4- week sim card by buying in a smaller city. There, I still was refused at the first Vodaphone store. And she checked with her supervisor!
