We're spending a couple of weeks in the Black Forest in the fall - a week in Gengenbach & then probably south toward Freiburg/Hintzergarten/Feldberg. I've looked at the info on purchasing the Schwarzwald card as it seems it will cover some of the attractions we want to visit. My confusion comes from the statement that the card is good for 3 days (which don't need to be consecutive) however some vendors will continue to honor it outside this period. Has anyone used this card or know anything about it?

I'm sorry I don't know anything about that card, but I will say to be sure to get the free Konus card when you check in in Gengenbach. It will give you free rides on the local trains and buses throughout the Schwarzwald and is free at accommodation in smaller towns and villages there but not in cities like Freiburg in Breisgau.

The KONUS card is also an attractions discount card. Some attractions are free.
