sausages in Frankfurt(Main)

I am in the middle of watching a TV show about trains in Germany (Michael Portillo) and he spent some time in Frankfurt.

He visited an old sausage place called Gref-Völsings which appears to be by the harbour area and Ostbahnhof.

I'd never heard of Gref-Völsings. Any comments? Or better places?

This is a well-known brand and place in Frankfurt. The factory is in an old turn of the century building. They are famous for their Frankfurters, as well as other sausages. The next time you come to Frankfurt, Nigel, I will take you there. After that, we will go get another Frankfurt specialty, Zeppelin Wurst.

I love a nice pair of Weißwurst. It works especially well when you work out what the white pot is for and how to use the cutlery.

Since Michael Portillo travels are guided by a 100+ year old book he tends to go to places that have been around some time, including to eat.

Maybe next century someone will repeat the experience with a 100 year old copy of Rick Steves ...

Maybe within 100 years Rick Steves will have discovered all the nice things in and around Frankfurt (M) and maybe the draw of Fachwerk.

Jo, that's some sausage. For me and how many friends?
